1. Our Commitment to Accessibility
UniCMMS believes that technology should be usable by everyone, regardless of ability or disability. We are committed to making our Services accessible in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and applicable accessibility laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the European Accessibility Act (EAA), and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
2. Conformance Status
We are working toward full conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Our current conformance status:
| Area | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing Website | Partially conformant | Ongoing improvements in progress |
| Web Application (Dashboard) | Partially conformant | Active accessibility program underway |
| Mobile App (iOS) | Partially conformant | VoiceOver support implemented |
| Mobile App (Android) | Partially conformant | TalkBack support implemented |
"Partially conformant" means some content does not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard, but we are actively working to address known issues.
3. Measures We Take
UniCMMS takes the following measures to support accessibility:
- Include accessibility as a requirement in our product development process
- Conduct regular accessibility audits using both automated tools and manual testing
- Test with assistive technologies including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack
- Provide accessibility training to our design and development teams
- Include users with disabilities in usability testing where possible
- Respond promptly to accessibility feedback and bug reports
4. Technical Accessibility Features
4.1 Website & Web Application
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible by keyboard
- Screen reader support: ARIA labels, landmarks, and live regions are used throughout
- Color contrast: Text meets minimum WCAG 4.5:1 contrast ratio requirements
- Resizable text: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality
- Focus indicators: Visible focus states on all interactive elements
- Skip navigation: Skip-to-content links provided for keyboard users
- Alt text: Descriptive alternative text for all meaningful images
- Form labels: All form inputs have associated labels
- Error identification: Form errors are clearly identified with text descriptions
- No time limits: We avoid imposing strict time limits on user actions
4.2 Mobile Applications
- Compatible with iOS VoiceOver and Android TalkBack screen readers
- Supports Dynamic Type (iOS) and font scaling (Android)
- Sufficient touch target sizes (minimum 44×44 points)
- High contrast mode support
- No reliance on color alone to convey information
5. Known Limitations
We are aware of the following accessibility issues and are actively working to resolve them:
- Some data visualizations and charts do not yet have full screen reader descriptions — we are adding text alternatives
- Certain legacy PDF reports may not be fully accessible — we are transitioning to accessible HTML reports
- Some complex interactive components (e.g., drag-and-drop scheduling) require keyboard alternatives — in development
- Some third-party embedded content (e.g., map widgets) may have accessibility gaps outside our direct control
If you encounter an issue not listed above, please let us know so we can prioritize it.
